The 38th Annual Tryzub Golf Outing

Eighty golfers from no less than six States competed in the Ukrainian American Sport Center Tryzub’s annual golf outing. Limekiln Golf Club presented the players with tremendous conditions, enhanced with recent rains and perfect dry game day weather: a high blue sky and brilliant sunchine with warm, delicate breezes.

After golf, everyone gathered at nearby “Tryzubivka”  (Ukrainian American Sport Center) in Horsham, Pa. for an awards banquet. Eugene Luciw stood in for Tryzub president, Danylo Nysch and welcomed everyone, thanked them for participating, and reminded them about any number of exciting sporting, cultural and social events at Tryzub.

Joe Homik thanked his committee members -- Roman Jarymovych, Andrij Zajac, Orest Lesiuk, Bohdan Anniuk, Gene Luciw and Alex Woloschuk – for their hard work and dedication. , He then proceeded, along with Bohdan Anniuk, to announce the winners in a boisterous awards ceremony:

Men’s Low Gross Score Champions:
1st Place: Todd Hannigan (Tryzub, PA)
2nd Place:  Walter Wilczak (Sitch, NJ)

Women’s Champions: 
1st Place Low Gross: Ulana Warren (NY)
1st Place Low Net: Lesia Hanas (Tryzub)

Men’s Low Net - “A” Flight:
1st Place:  Joe Homick (Tryzub)
2nd Place: Mike Zaremba (Sitch, NJ)

Men’s Low Net - “B” Flight:
1st Place: Steve Byrnes (Tryzub)
2nd Place: Clay Belcher (Tryzub)

Closest to the Pin

The sponsor for this year’s event was perennial supporter, Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral Home.

Each player received a generous and thoughtful door prize and a popular 50/50 raffle replenished the pool for next year’s tournament with $515. Naturally, an equal amount went to the winner of the draw.
